Early Detection and Treatment Program

Each year nearly 1 in 150 children are diagnosed with autism. As more children and families face the challenges of autism, the alarming rise in incidence demands increased clinical and educational services for the autism community. Alpine Learning Group’s Early Detection and Treatment Program is designed to meet this urgent need by delivering critical support and services to the growing number of families affected by autism.

Building on Alpine’s renowned Outreach Program, the Early Detection and Treatment Program, which was initiated in the spring of 2006, is working in conjunction with local physicians and health care providers who are the families’ first and often primary source of information about autism. Participating hospitals and pediatricians refer parents of newly-diagnosed children to the Early Detection and Treatment Program. A team of Alpine’s skilled clinicians will offer families reliable, up-to-date information about proven, science-based treatments for their children with autism. The Early Detection Program provides parents comprehensive in-home training services to address problem behavior and to promote language and social skills.

Alpine’s Early Detection and Treatment Program reaches out to area hospitals and pediatric developmental specialists to offer:

  • On-site educational workshops for families of newly diagnosed children

  • In-home short term intensive parent training and education

  • Clinical support and interventions to address challenging behavior

  • Clinical support and interventions to teach language and social skills

Alpine Learning Group is working in conjunction with The Institute for Child Development (ICD) at Hackensack Hospital through a grant funded program to provide the free parent training services to families diagnosed in the ICD.
