Transition Programs for Young Adults with Autism

Discover a Future Full of Opportunities with Alpine Learning Group’s Transition Programs!

At Alpine Learning Group, we empower young adults with autism to take charge of their futures. Our New Jersey Department of Education-approved transition programs provide the skills and experiences needed for employment, independent living, social success, and—when appropriate—higher education. We offer two specialized programs designed to meet different levels of support:

Success Academy (Ages 14-21)

Ideal for learners who need moderate support while developing essential employment and life skills on campus and in the community.

Business Academy (Ages 16-21)

Designed for learners who require minimal support as they build workforce-ready skills or prepare for college.

Personalized Pathways to Success

What makes our programs stand out? Personalized pathways to success. We prioritize choice and independence, helping each learner explore career options that match their strengths and aspirations. With the support of our trusted community partners, participants gain hands-on experience through volunteer opportunities, supported internships, and paid jobs.

What to Expect from our Transition Programs for Young Adults with Autism

Our transition programs and activities for adolescents and young adults with autism provide a variety of opportunities in the classroom and community to help learners prepare for adult life. We provide an expansive curriculum that focuses on development of life and social skills, building healthy relationships, career preparation, and a range of functional academic skills.

Our commitment to individualized support and a focus on quality of life sets us apart, empowering learners to achieve happiness and success.

Individualized Approach

Our individualized approach ensures that each learner’s daily routine is tailored to their specific needs and goals. Students in both the Success Academy and Business Academy enjoy regular opportunities to connect with the community through worksites, volunteer projects, and local activities at parks, museums, and other venues. We provide discreet, unobtrusive supports like visual schedules, app-based tools, and training videos to foster independence and success.

Employment and College Opportunities

Through strong partnerships with employers, we offer students valuable employment training in a range of industries, from retail and administrative support to IT, restaurants, maintenance, caregiving, and beyond. Our commitment to job placement is evident in our 100% success rate for learners with employment goals. We also provide comprehensive support for students interested in college coursework, helping them develop the skills needed for academic success, connect with campus resources, and choose programs that pave the way for a successful future.

Determining the Best Jobs for Young Adults with Autism

We’re committed to finding the right jobs for young adults with autism in both our academies. Through comprehensive assessments, we identify each learner’s unique strengths—whether it’s exceptional organizational skills, a talent for counting, or keen visual acuity— and use this information to match them with suitable employment opportunities.

We believe that individuals with autism, like everyone else, thrive in jobs they enjoy. Despite the challenges of finding employment for this population, we never settle for “just any job.” We prioritize personal preferences to ensure a fulfilling match. Once a student secures a position with a community partner, our job coaches provide training to help employers understand effective strategies for supporting their success.
